A 'Guided Adventure' through the magnificent French,
Italian and Swiss Alps, then topped off with the stunning roads and scenery of
Germany’s Black Forest.
The Trip
A new tour for 2023 focusing on the highlights from four countires. It takes in
many of our favourite routes along with some introduced for the first time.
We will spend eight nights using four hotels, two of which are also new for this
tour. Our accommodation ranges from 4* to 5* superior.

We don’t subscribe to the rather
archaic system of “here’s some
directions, see you at the hotel
tonight”. To ensure you enjoy
the ultimate in stress free
touring all cars on this tour
will be fitted with our premium
GPS Satellite Navigation units.
Our detailed and pre driven
routes are loaded onto the
units, you just have to select
which day you are on and let the
system guide you while enjoying
the open road at YOUR pace. Even
the petrol stops are pre loaded!
RADIOS
All customers on this tour will
enjoy the use of powerful
licensed two way radios – these
units are 8 times more powerful
than the usual high street
walkie-talkies and provide a
method for the group to
communicate with each other
during the day.
TRAVEL PACK
Each car has a travel pack which
includes – itinerary - summery
route for each day – suggested
lunch stop – petrol stops –
hotel and local information
including emergency numbers.
SUPPORT CAR
Staff from Driving Adventures will
be on this tour to provide support
throughout the duration of the trip.
The trip in more detail:
DAY 1
Monday 4 September 2023 -
Calais to Dijon, France (365
miles)
We’ll meet up early to catch the
Eurotunnel crossing to Calais to
begin our mile munching exercise
to swallow up a large chunk of
France. The last 80 miles of
this route is a cross country
delight!
We’ll launch the first night of the tour in one of our regularly
used 4* Chateau which we’ve booked on a Dinner, B&B basis.
We will be here
for 2 nights booked on a B&B
basis.
Day 3
Wednesday 6 September 2023-
Optional Drive - Alpine Loop
(115 miles)
Although an optional driving
day, we really recommend you
don’t miss this. We will revisit
routes not used by us for many
years combined with some new
passes which have been on the
wish list for years.
We will enjoy stunning
alpine views in both France and
Italy.
This route has
been designed to get us back to
Courmayeur for lunch in order to
have time to enjoy this
beautiful location for the
afternoon and evening.
Day 4
Thursday 7 September 2023 – Courmayeur to Lucerne, Switzerland (230 miles)
A day driving through Switzerland with scenery a plenty
enjoying a variety of road types, and fortunately this route
takes us past one of our favourite spots for lunch.
The day includes some favourite routes into Switzerland combined with some
roads never travelled before.
Our 4* hotel for the next three evenings affords wonderful views of the
beautiful city of Lucerne. We have booked this character accommodation
on a bed and breakfast basis.
Day 6
Saturday 9 September 2023 – REST DAY
After 5 days of involved driving and eclectic scenery, it’s time to
have a break from the car and enjoy the many offerings available in
Lucerne.
Day 7
Sunday 10 September 2023- Lucerne to Baden Baden, Germany (150 miles)
Just a 50 mile drive takes us from Switzerland and into Germany. Offering up a completely different
experience to the Swiss Alps, Germany’s Black Forest enjoys miles of
smooth tarmac twisting through spectacular landscape. Catch this
region on a sunny day and it’s a driving experience hard to beat.
Our last hotel of the tour, a wonderful 5 star superior
brimming with character nestles in the stunning landscape of the Black
Forest. We will be here for two nights.
Day 8
Monday 11 September 2023- Optional Drive - Black Forest Loop, Germany (115
miles)
For those who want to use their morning exploring the roads around the
Black Forest, this is for you.
Designed to take in the highlights of the
surrounding area, this route will return us for
lunch to enjoy our magnificent hotel, which of
course serves fantastic cakes in the afternoon.
Day 9
Tuesday
12 September 2023- Baden Baden to Calais, France (420 miles)
The final day is purely a mile eater to take us across the breadth of
France to catch our late afternoon Eurotunnel crossing back to
Folkestone.... and you’ll be amazed how effortlessly you can cover this
sort of distance in northern France compared to doing a similar distance
using our motorways in England.
